Nicholas Winton, a British banker, saved 669 primarily Jewish children from Nazi persecution through his Kindertransport efforts in 1938-39. His humanitarian actions remained hidden for decades until revealed in 1988 on BBC’s That’s Life, where he met many of those he rescued.
