MoD ORDERS ROYAL NAVY FLEET PROCUREMENT

The Ministry of Defence is set to accelerate the procurement process for new surface fleet assets for the Royal Navy and the Royal Fleet Auxiliary.

The Defence Minister, Maria Eagle, emphasised the importance of leveraging innovation and new capabilities in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

The goal aligns with the Defence Industrial Strategy and is being considered as part of the Security Defence Review.

The Ministry of Defence is also implementing structural changes to foster a more agile procurement process, including the establishment of the National Armaments Director Group as part of Defence Reform.

This move aims to energise the military-industrial relationship and drive pace in procurement.

Ms. Eagle said about the procurement of the Navy personnel, “Accelerating procurement is recognised across Defence, forming an important outcome within the Defence Industrial Strategy, and is being considered as part of the Security Defence Review.”
