Car Crash at Vancouver Festival Claims Nine Lives

Tragedy struck Vancouver on Saturday evening as a car ploughed into a crowd attending the Lapu-Lapu Day festival, leaving nine people dead and an unknown number injured. The incident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. when festival-goers celebrating the Filipino national hero were caught in the devastating collision.

Authorities confirmed that a 30-year-old Vancouver resident was apprehended at the scene. The situation is being handled as a “mass casualty incident,” according to officials.

Nine people are feared dead following the attack on the festival goers.


Canada’s Prime Minister, Mark Carney, expressed his sorrow in the aftermath of the tragedy. “I am devastated to hear about the horrific events at the Lapu-Lapu Day festival,” he wrote in a social media post. “My deepest condolences go out to the loved ones of those who lost their lives, the injured, the Filipino Canadian community, and all of Vancouver.
