British Transport Police have charged a man following last weekend’s violent stabbing on board a train travelling from Doncaster to London.

Detectives have also confirmed that Williams is being linked to a separate knife incident on the Docklands Light Railway on 1 November, suggesting a possible pattern of violent behaviour on the transport network.

The attack occurred shortly before 7:45pm when the LNER service made an emergency stop at Huntingdon railway station, following reports of multiple stabbings on board. Officers and paramedics flooded the scene within minutes.

The suspect was caught on CCTV before the attack this is a AI reproduction of the original image.

“This was a horrific and senseless act of violence which left several passengers seriously injured,” said Superintendent John Loveless of the British Transport Police. “Our thoughts remain with the victims and their families as they continue to recover.”

Of the ten victims, four were discharged from hospital within 24 hours, while two remain in critical condition. The others are said to be stable.

Williams appeared before magistrates in Cambridge this morning and was remanded in custody pending a Crown Court hearing next week.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and footage from both incidents, particularly from passengers travelling on the 18:25 LNER service from Doncaster to King’s Cross and anyone present on the Docklands Light Railway on the evening of 1 November.

Supt Loveless added: “This case has understandably caused widespread concern across the rail network. I want to reassure the public that incidents of this nature remain extremely rare, and we are working closely with our partners to ensure the safety of all passengers.”

Williams faces a possible life sentence if convicted on all charges.
