FARAGE: UKRAINE 🇺🇦 PROVOKED RUSSIA

According to Nigel Farage, who spoke to the BBC, the West “provoked” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by expanding the military alliance established by the European Union and NATO to the east.

As part of an interview with Nick Robinson, the leader of Reform UK was quoted as saying that “of course” Putin was to blame for the war.

While this is going on, leading members from the five most major parties in Wales have engaged in a live television debate; you can see it here.

Earlier, Rishi Sunak refused to be drawn on any further questions regarding suspicions that Tory insiders were betting on the election. He also promised once more to “boot out” anyone who was discovered to have violated gambling rules.

In another instance, the statistics authority criticised the assertion made by Labour that the Conservatives would increase mortgage rates by 4,800 pounds.

The comments made by Nigel Farage to the BBC, in which he implied that the West was responsible for inciting Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, were deemed “disgraceful” by John Healey, the shadow defence secretary.

Here’s his statement in full:

John Healey Shadow Defence Secretary called Nigel Farage’s comments “disgraceful”

“These are disgraceful comments, which reveal the true face of Nigel Farage: a Putin apologist who should never be trusted with our nation’s security.

“Up until now, there has been a united front amongst Britain’s political leaders in supporting the people of Ukraine against the unprovoked and unjustifiable assault they have suffered at the hands of Vladimir Putin.

“Nigel Farage has put himself outside that united position, and shown that he would rather lick Vladimir Putin’s boots than stand up for the people of Ukraine. That makes him unfit for any political office in our country, let alone leading a serious party”
