Factory farms are a major source of animal suffering, pollution, and environmental damage. They are not only causing suffering for animals but also affecting the planet, climate, and communities.
The World Bank is investing billions annually in building more factory farms, which are funded by taxpayers.
However, the World Bank has recently updated its mission statement to address climate change, raising global outcry. Family farms are disappearing worldwide, replaced by large industrial operations where animals suffer in cramped conditions.
Governments are supporting the expansion of these monstrous factory farms. To stop factory farming, 100,000 signatures must be collected and presented to the World Bank President at the annual spring meeting.
The coalition to stop financing factory farming has already successfully pressured the Inter-American Development Bank to retract a $200 million loan to Marfrig Global Foods, a beef producer that has been linked to deforestation.
