REFORM GAINS IN LOCAL AND MAYOR ELECTIONS

Nigel Farage’s Reform Party has won the by-election for Runcorn and Helsby by a margin of only six votes, resulting in one of the safest Labour seats in the country being taken now by Reform.

This victory came on the same night as the Conservatives were defeated in the elections for mayor and at the local council level.

After defeating Labour’s prior majority of almost 15,000 votes, Sarah Pochin, a member of the Reform party, became the party’s fifth member of parliament.

She managed to seize control of a region that has been under the party’s control for more than four decades.  When it comes to the four of the six mayor elections that have been declared so far, Reform has won Greater Lincolnshire with 42 percent of the vote.

On the other hand, Labour has won Doncaster, North Tyneside, and West of England, while the Conservatives have finished in third place in each of these elections.

The BBC reports that Reform has acquired 321 councillors so far among the 23 local councils that are up for grabs. In comparison, the Conservatives have 111 councillors, the Liberal Democrats have 103, and Labour has only 27 councillors.

To this point, Reform has been successful in seizing control of councils in the counties of Staffordshire and Lincolnshire.

On the other hand, Northumberland has remained undecided, and additional results are expected to be announced during the day.

According to Mr. Farage, who referred to the results as a “phenomenal night” for Reform, the results demonstrated that his party was taking over as the opposition party from the Conservatives.

Mr Farage remarked, “You are witnessing the end of a party that has been around since 1832, and they are disappearing.”
