An IS fanatic killed Sir David Amess MP during a gathering in a church in Southend-On-Sea, Essex, UK.
At his constituency office in Essex, Conservative MP Sir David Amess was stabbed numerous times and later died. Following the assault outside a church in Leigh-on-Sea, police said a 25-year-old man was detained on suspicion of murder.

Amess suffered several stab wounds on October 15, 2021, while attending his constituency meeting in Leigh-on-Belfair’s Sea’s Methodist Church Hall. He received treatment on the spot, but his injuries caused his death. At 1:13 PM, authorities at the site pronounced him dead.
The Metropolitan Police eventually designated the murder of Amess as a “terrorist act.” The investigation is looking at “possible motivation related to Islamist extremism,” according to Scotland Yard’s Counter Terrorism Command.

Ali Harbi Ali, a 25-year-old British national of Somali heritage, was imprisoned under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 after being apprehended on suspicion of murder on the spot. He was accused on October 21 with murder and planning terrorist activities in accordance with the Terrorism Act of 2006. March 2021 was the date of his trial.
