Corby will be painting the town rainbow with its third Pride event on Saturday, June 7th. Also a pub in Rushden The Welcome Inn is opening it’s doors to a weekend Pride event
The Pride parade will wend its way from George Street outside the Corby Cube, along Westcott Way and Elizabeth Street, ending in the green embrace of Coronation Park.
Pride Month, celebrated each June, is a clarion call to honour LGBTQIA+ communities and the strides made towards greater visibility and inclusion. These local events remind us that Pride is more than a party—it’s a powerful act of unity, resilience, and joy.
Meanwhile, The Welcome Inn on Irchester Road in Rushden is opening its doors—and its heart—for three days of family-friendly Pride celebrations this June. From the joyous sparkle of drag performances to the electric buzz of party games, this event is set to unite the community in a technicolour festival of love and acceptance.
The festivities kick off on Friday, June 20, with a lip-sync battle sure to unleash everyone’s inner diva, followed by a performance from the fabulous Miss Gendered and a disco to keep the dancefloor alive until close. Saturday’s line-up starts at 2pm, with party games welcoming all ages, followed by beer pong and comedic drag artist Trudi Night keeping spirits high.
The fun continues on Sunday, June 22, with more party games and the ever-popular ‘bongo bingo.’ All proceeds from games and donations will be shared between Pride UK and the Marmalade Trust, which is dedicated to tackling loneliness and fostering new connections.
To keep the community in tune, Rushden’s own Beat Route Radio will be broadcasting live from the pub all Saturday, and local favourite Hungry Horris and Sons will keep the crowd fuelled with delicious bites on Saturday and Sunday.
