UK HALTS ISRAELI TALKS FOLLOWING GAZA ASSAULT

In response to Israel’s “intolerable” assault on Gaza, the United Kingdom has summoned the Israeli ambassador and suspended trade talks with the Jewish state.

According to Keir Starmer, the UK is “horrified by the escalation” of war from Israel, and according to David Lammy, the war is approaching a “dark new phase”.

After eleven weeks of banning all supplies, the United Nations stated earlier that Israel had allowed about one hundred aid trucks to enter Gaza.

The UK’s Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, has described the Israeli bombardment in Gaza as approaching “a dark stage”.

Five trucks were permitted entry into Israel on Monday; nonetheless, UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher referred to this as a “drop in the ocean”.

Additionally, according to Fletcher, 14,000 infants in Gaza could perish within the next two days unless additional aid reaches them.

The Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has said “the war can end tomorrow” if Hamas frees Israeli hostages and disarms.

Of the 58 Israeli hostages from 7th October 2023 still held in Gaza, it’s believed up to  23 may still be alive.
