Sunderland Lioness Jill Scott wins “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here”

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Returned for its twenty-second series on 6 November 2022 on ITV1. The series returned to Murwillumbah, New South Wales, Australia, for the first time since 2019, following the easing of travel restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. Ant & Dec returned to present the series.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia, the twentieth and twenty-first series were filmed at Gwrych Castle in Abergele, Wales. Following the conclusion of the latter, media speculation began as to whether the series would return to Australia. It was also confirmed that ITV would film an “All-Stars” series in South Africa, featuring former campmates and scheduled to air in 2023. However, it was stated that the series would be used as a back-up option if the show was unable to return to Australia. It was planned that this location would serve as a fallback if it couldn’t make it back to Australia. The series would return to Australia for the first time since the nineteenth series, it was announced in August 2022.

Before the season began, it was revealed that Bob McCarron, also referred to as “Medic Bob,” who had served as the program’s doctor from the beginning, would not be returning in this series.

The series’ first trailer, a ten-second teaser that debuted on ITV on October 7, 2022, showed a helicopter travelling through the sky toward Australia as Donnelly asked, “Where is the luggage going?” McPartlin responded, “It’s meeting us there.” A week later, a full-length teaser was unveiled, showing Ant and Dec jumping from a helicopter into the bush while carrying camp supplies.

Due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the series kicked up one week earlier than usual on November 6.

The final four celebrity contestants were Mike Tyndall MBE, Sunderland Football player Jill Scott, Matt Hancock MP, and Actor Owen Warner (until the departure of Mike Tyndall announced yesterday).

The finalists and celebrities competing in the 22nd Series

ITV released the lineup on October 31, 2022. The decision, which was roundly criticised by the media and finally resulted in Matt Hancock’s suspension from the Conservative parliamentary party and its whip, was made public the day after it was announced that he would be entering the lineup as a late arrival. Later on, stand-up comedian Seann Walsh was identified as the second tardy entry, joining Hancock on November 8th.

Olivia Attwood, a model, was forced to leave the reality series on November 7 due to health concerns. A spokesman said that the medical team indicated that it wasn’t safe for Attwood to return to campsite because there needed to be a further medical investigation into her health. Atwood was dignosed as anaemic, though she felt at the time that she had been forced to leave the jungle.

In tonights episode, Jill Scott faced her fears in order to win a starter meal taking place in a bush-tucker trial called “Rat Race” where she was encased in a casing with 100 rats whilst trying to collect stars.
