Elon did walk away from OpenAI years ago to focus on Tesla, SpaceX, and now xAI. The grudge does feel quite personal at this stage. The irony is the very thing he’s suing them over — turning into a closed, for-profit company — is exactly what made ChatGPT explode in popularity. If it had stayed a pure nonprofit research lab, it probably wouldn’t be the household name it is now.Whether that’s “betraying the mission” or just evolving with reality… that’s what the court’s going to argue
