Ann Holmes from Corby was crowned “Northamptonshire’s kindest resident” by Rushden Lakes. The recognition was part of a campaign celebrating **Random Acts of Kindness Day** on February 17th.
Ann was nominated by her son, Darren, who described her as the **”salt of the earth”**. She played a crucial role in raising her grandchildren while her children continued working and also cared for her niece, Shauna, after Shauna’s mother battled cancer. Ann ensured Shauna completed her education, graduated from Coventry University, and became a paramedic.
For her kindness, Ann received £500 worth of gift cards from Rushden Lakes. She said her son’s nomination was “the nicest thing anyone had ever done.”
