A matron at one of the hospitals in Tripoli says they are caught “in the middle of a battle,” between pro- and anti-Gaddafi forces. It is “absolutely horrific”, Karen Graham told the BBC World Service. “They are just chucking rocks at each other, it’s awful. You’ve got massive rocket-propelled grenades and heavy arms fire, small arms fire, and that was for about three or four hours last night. So obviously the patients are absolutely petrified.
