Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, announced he is donating most of his wealth to charity before he dies recently announcement in a interview with Forbes Magazine.
He is estimated to be worth over $800m (£537m) and has pledged to leave his wealth to philanthropic causes and also pay for his 10-year-old nephew’s college education.
Mr Cook joins a growing number of the world’s super-rich who have pledged their fortune and inheritance from accumulated wealth, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and other famous names such billionaire investor Warren Buffett and Microsoft founder Bill Gates launched the campaign The Giving Pledge whose contributors aim to convince billionaires to give at least half of their fortunes to charity.
The philanthropic organisation which includes Mr. Zuckerberg and over 100 others have so far signed up to the “moral commitment”.
